Description
In collaboration with Thermoscreens, Mitsubishi Electric have developed a new range of air curtains that can be connected to their power inverter heat pumps, as opposed to the more traditional direct electric method associated with air curtains. Mitsubishi Electric has a recessed option (Unit mostly hidden in ceiling void) or free standing option (mostly visible) on its air curtains.
Air curtains are designed to allow open door policy in retail outlets whilst being energy efficient, clean indoor environment, protection from external dust, fumes etc, reduced CO2 emissions and running cost to a 2.5 year pay back period against equivalent electric systems. They can provide significant energy savings, as they prevent conditioned air escaping from the building. Rather than deriving warm air from conventional sources such as direct electric heating or low, medium or high pressure water, air curtains can be linked to VRF or split heat pump air conditioning units, which significantly reduces the energy use.
